Custom Fields are advanced field structures. Use them when Basic, Compound, and Repeating templates do not capture the information correctly.

When To Use Custom Fields

- The field contains several subfields.
- The field must repeat.
- Address parts need region-specific labels, visibility, or country choices.
- The ready made templates do not match your agency's workflow.
Use With Care
Custom Fields are powerful, but they take more planning. Decide the labels, required subfields, and reporting needs before creating them. Once users start entering data, changing subfield keys and types can affect existing records.
